			About Washington, USA

After considering numerous locations as the capital of the United States of America, the congress eventually settled upon declaring Washington DC as the mighty nation’s capital at the end of the 18th Century. This was largely thanks to its location on the Potomac River, making it suitable to both North and South.

While he wasn’t the first president of the United States, John Adams was the first president to take office in the city’s most famous building, the White House, and Congress held its first session in the new capital in 1800.

While it is known primarily for its state buildings, Washington DC is also a very relaxed city in comparison to some of the other metropolises around the states. This makes a break here both more relaxed and informative than that in some of the more popular destinations.
